Welcome to the Neighborhood!

Your one stop shop for all things toddler communication and development

The SLP Next Door was created with SLPs, educators, and anyone in the world of toddlers, in mind.  Everything is created with toddler stage-preschool ages in mind. You will find that information and resources can be modified to transition with a toddler as they progress to preschool (in other words, you can make them as difficult or as easy as you want).

My name is Megan Peveto and I am the SLP Next Door! I am from a very small town in Texas. I’m married to the absolutely best man on the planet and we have a little boy and and a dog named Charlie. (sounds like a country song, doesn’t it?)

I love Jesus and without Him- none of this would be possible.

I’ve been in the world of speech therapy ever since 2012 when I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree. I spent a year working as a SLP-A (speech language pathologist-assistant) before going to graduate school. I graduated with my Master’s in 2015 and I have a certificate in Autism/Special Education.

If I’m being 100% honest, I’ve always loved babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. When I took a job in the pediatric home health world, I realized there wasn’t a whole lot of information about toddler’s communication development. One day I decided to just make it myself. I’ve researched just about everything I could about toddlers; and still do! I’ve seen success with the interventions and methods i’ve been able to create and implement.

We are just getting started on this journey and I’m so very thankful to take it with you!

My gramma always told me that I was destined to do something big; something that would make an impact. I’ve spent my life holding on to that, when I felt like nothing was working she was there saying “Babe- you’ve defied a lot of odds against you. God definitely put you here for a purpose. You are going to do something big.” I lost her to cancer in 2017, 3 months after I got married. She became my angel. I feel her presence almost daily and can still hear her voice. “Babe- you’re going to do something big.”

Gramma, I think I found my something big.
